about your inspector
I have decades of experience, have conducted thousands of inspections, and have the best training and qualifications in the inspection industry.
My name is Chad Clanton, Certified Professional inspector®. I have inspected thousands of homes for clients just like you. I am highly trained through InterNACHI, and I also have decades of hands-on construction experience that can’t be taught in a classroom.
From a young age, I was taught the value of hard work and taking care of your client – as well as how homes work. I built and renovated my first house with my father at age 13, adding a 1,600 square foot, 2 story addition onto a 960 square foot stone home built in 1906 in only 5 months, starting at the beginning of summer break. The following summer, working with a master carpenter and only one other helper, I helped frame and build 14 houses. The trend continued each summer until 2001, when I joined the US Army. After serving in Afghanistan and Iraq as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, I took a position as a security specialist in nuclear power generation from 2005-2014, before deciding on a career change and returning to my home state of Texas to start my property inspection company.
I began conducting home inspections in San Antonio, Texas and quickly added security consultations and thermography (visual interpretation of surface temperatures, using specialized equipment, to identify and diagnose home-related issues) into my skill set. Before my second year in business, I was conducting approximately 400-500 inspections per year.
I am now the owner and lead inspector of ThermaSpect Inspection Services, a Clarksville, TN based home inspection and security consulting firm serving Clarksville, Nashville, and Rural Tennessee. In addition to standard home inspections, ThermaSpect offers free thermal imaging and security assessments with each home inspection, plus warranty inspections and a number of other services. I pride myself on excellent service, communication, and utmost reliability.
